Nove candidature per Jay Z
Con uno spettacolo al Nokia Theatre di Los Angeles in diretta tv sulla CBS, sono state rese note le nomination della 56esima edizione dei Grammy Awards, gli Oscar della musica, in programma il 26 gennaio allo Staples Center della città californiana.
Tra un annuncio e l’altro si sono alternati sul palco hollywoodiano Robin Thicke, Macklemore e Ryan Lewis, e la stella neozelandese Lorde, che grazie alla sua hit Royals, ha raccimolato quattro candidature tra cui la prestigiosa Record Of The Year.
Presentatore della serata di sabato scorso LL Cool J, che ha colto l’occasione per rendere omaggio al compianto Nelson Mandela, scomparso nella sera di giovedì 5 dicembre 2013 nella sua casa a Johannesburg all’età di 95 anni.
Per quanto riguarda le nomination, in testa con 9 menzioni c’è Jay-Z a seguire con 7, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore e Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake e Pharrell Williams.
Quattro candidature per la reginetta del country Taylor Swift e Daft Punk, mentre David Bowie, tornato in grande stile nel 2013, gareggia nelle categorie miglior performance rock e miglior album rock.
Per l’album dell’anno in gara ci sono Sara Bareilles con The Blessed Unrest, i Daft Punk con Random Access Memories, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City di Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis per The Heist e Red di Taylor Swift.
Per la Miglior Canzone ci sarà un vincitore tra Just Give Me a Reason di Pink, Locked Out of Heaven di Bruno Mars, il tormentone Roar di Katy Perry, Royals di Lorde e Same Love di Macklemore & Ryan.
Da segnalare l’assenza di Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber e Miley Cyrus.
