Stravincono Adele e The Weeknd
Dei Billboard Music Awards 2016 si ricorderanno soprattutto le performance, dal ritorno di Britney Spears alla struggente esibizione di Céline Dion passando per il tributo a Prince, firmato niente meno che da Madonna e Stevie Wonder e molto altro ancora.
Organizzati dalla rivista Billboard, i BMA, come di consueto, sono stati assegnati sulla base delle vendite e delle classifiche e così, a trionfare in questa edizione 2016 sono stati Adele e The Weeknd.
La cantante britannica, impegnata nel suo tour, il 28 maggio sarà all’Arena di Verona, si è aggiudicata il premio più importante, ovvero quello per l’artista dell’anno, che aveva già vinto nel 2011, oltre a migliore artista femminile, Top Billboard 200 Artist e Top Billboard 200 Album.
The Weeknd invece ha vinto il premio per la migliore canzone R&B, per The Hills, per il miglior disco R&B, per Beauty Behind the Madness, quello delle categorie Top Hot 100 Artist e Top R&B Artist, quello per il cantante che ha venduto più canzoni, quello più ascoltato in streaming e quello per il cantante andato meglio alla radio.
Tra gli altri artisti premiati ai Billboard Music Awards 2016 Rihanna, a cui è andato l’unico premio assegnato dal pubblico, Justin Bieber, David Guetta, One Direction, Taylor Swift e molti altri.
